The EGPA conference is the annual meeting of the community of academics, young researchers, and practitioners of public administration in Europe. The conference is structured around a number of activities: plenary sessions, seminars (doctoral symposium, Francophone and thematic seminars), sessions of EGPA's permanent study groups (23 PSGs), statutory and institutional (and EGPA partner) meetings. Each year, we organise a series of panels on contemporary and topical issues, chosen with the host institution
The PSGs are the core of EGPA: EGPA is its Study Groups:
Each Study Group has the core task of convening on occasion of the annual conference and of promoting all initiatives and projects deemed of value for the advancement of the state of the art. This includes engaging into the Dialogues, developing ad hoc initiatives, and contributing the EGPA Policy Papers on European Governance.
EGPA currently has 23 Permanent Study Groups, covering a very wide range of key themes and research areas in the disciplines of public administration stricto sensu, political science, public management, public law, sociology or public policy analysis.
EGPA also stimulates the communication and cooperation between different PhD training institutes in Public Administration in Europe.
The seminar provides a unique space for French-speaking exchanges within the Annual Conference of the European Group for Public Administration. It conveys specific political and administrative ideas, methods and traditions, with a wide European and international coverage.
The seminar is aware of administrators’ expectations and its own mission of knowledge actualization. It invites conversations between scholars and confirmed practitioners through communication sessions, panel discussions, or accounts of fieldwork experiences.
EGPA is also organising Dialogues with its partners: Transatlantic Dialogues TAD with ASPA (American Society for Public Administration); Trans European Dialogues TED with NISPAcee (The Network of Institutes and Schools for Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe); and Euro-MENA Dialogues with MENAPAR and key partners.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, EGPA decided developing a series of thematic virtual events starting in 2020.
EGPA Permanent Study Groups seized the opportunity to maintain the activities of their network during the 2020 EGPA-IASIA e-Conference and the IIAS 90th Anniversary Conference followed by several EGPA virtual events in 2021 on different themes.
The contacts with our strategic partners are consolidated and reinforced:
