The EGPA Study Group on Governance of Public Sector Organizations studies the origins, management, control, performance and accountability of public sector organizations.
There are many different public sector organizations, ranging from core government units to semi-autonomous agencies, state-owned companies, governmental foundations, public private partnerships, and agencies at supra-governmental level. Central research issues in this study group are the autonomy and control of such organizations, their internal management, cultural identity, external relations, performance, accountability, and coordination. Our research uses different methodologies to contribute to new empirical and theoretical insights.
The Study Group chairs are Per Laegreid (University of Bergen), Koen Verhoest (Antwerp University), and Sandra Van Thiel (Radboud University Nijmegen).
